How Our Appointment System Works

Ever stood in long lines at a conference, praying that by the time it's your turn, the editor you want to meet with will still have an appointment available, only to lose out? Not at the Write His Answer Conference! Obviously not since we’re virtual. But we do provide the opportunity to choose pre-conference who you want to meet with for your virtual appointments. Once we’ve collected all the faculty information and posted it on the website, you’ll receive a form with space to note your #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 choices of editors or agents. We ask you to also note your #6, 7, and 8 choices in case your top choices are already filled.

While we are not scheduling appointments with authors, we do want you to get to know them and take advantage of their expertise! On Wednesday evening our authors will be hosting Round Table Q&A’s during dinner. They will also be leading critique groups on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Finally, check out our Paid Critiques page to find authors willing to do paid critiques after the conference.

The earlier you register, the better opportunity you have of getting your top choices.

Deadlines - Appointment requests received through JULY 1 will be booked in the order of when you registered for the conference so you do NOT need to rush completing your Appointment Request Form. All appointment requests must be received by JULY 26. You must use the online Appointment Request Form. You will receive the link when you register for the conference and after the faculty bios and editorial needs have been posted. Please note that you must be paid in full for your appointments to be scheduled.

Group Appointments are 30 minutes long and scheduled during learning labs, workshops, and continuing sessions when the faculty member is not teaching. The conference schedule makes it impossible to offer appointments other than during these times, but please do NOT feel you need to miss an entire workshop to keep your appointments. Your workshop instructor will probably not even see if you arrive late or leave before the end of the virtual workshop or continuing session. And remember, you have until December 31, 2023 to watch the videos!

You will be notified what appointments have been scheduled for you in an email prior to the conference. Prepare to meet with any one of the faculty members you have selected. We have hundreds of appointments to book and sometimes run into last minute faculty changes, so we are unable to tell you any earlier who you will be meeting with.

If you do not get your first choice(s), or if all the appointments you have requested are filled by the time we receive your appointment request form (although with the eight choices we ask you to note that is HIGHLY unlikely), do not despair. The Lord knows the plans He has for you and your work (Jeremiah 29:11).

Editorial Needs - You'll find the greatest editorial needs and overworked topics on the faculty bio pages (click 2023 Faculty/Markets).

It has been years since I attended my first writer's conference in Estes Park.
The virtual conference fanned the embers; I was encouraged and inspired.
I also learned how much more I need to learn to improve my writing for Jesus.
