Dear conferee –

I believe God has called you to this year’s CCWC. No matter whether you’re a beginning or professional writer or whether you write fiction or nonfiction, I expect God will encourage and equip you to “Write His Answer” in ways that will change lives for eternity!

The most important thing you can do to prepare for this year’s CCWC is to seek Him and His will for your writing. I especially want to encourage you to click here for a Bible study on Habakkuk 2:2, our theme verse.

Please also click on the links to the following items to aid you in your conference preparations:

Check-Off List (click here) with important reminders and dates to help you prepare.

Appointment Request Form - Click here for the form that needs to be submitted online by April 15 (extended to April 18for early registration preference.

All appointment requests must be received by April 30. If you miss this date, again do not worry. You can sign up for appointments when you arrive at the conference. The appointment desk will open Wednesday afternoon. The bottom line . . . trust Father. I am convinced that He will see to it that you meet with the faculty He wants you to meet with even if it’s not during a scheduled appointment. If you plan to talk to editors, I encourage you to order my “Put Your Best Foot Forward” CD at http://writehisanswer.com/Bookstore. Besides the helpful info, my “didn’t-know-any-better” mistakes will give you a really good laugh.

Again – Important: Before submitting your appointment requests, please study the helps you’ll find under Appointments. They include:

Appointment Procedures
Appointments – Making the Best Choices
Preparing for Your Appointments
Growing Your Writing Ministry

Paid critiques - A 30-minute appointment with a faculty member who has reviewed your manuscript before the conference is one of the best investments you can make at the cost of only $35 each. To see who is available and what genres you’ll need to scroll through the faculty bios. For length parameters be sure to click here. NOTE: Paid critiques do not lower the number of free appointments you are entitled to receive.

Wednesday Early Bird Workshops: I am really excited about this year’s early bird workshops that begin at 1:00 pm. They are a wise investment of time and money. Be certain to click here for April 12 update.

Come early – You are welcome to arrive on Tuesday to avoid rushing on Wednesday and to get acclimated to the altitude. I can’t think of a better way to ease into the conference than to spend Tuesday afternoon and evening and Wednesday morning with the Lord surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains.

Visit our bookstore - To help you prepare, I encourage you to visit my bookstore for writers on the Write His Answer website. Write His Answer is the umbrella for the Colorado and Greater Philly conference ministries. Books are sold at a discount (including the new 2018 Christian Writers Market Guide). Sales help cover conference expenses.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. You can reach me by email mbagnull@aol.com or by phone 484-991-8581.

Father, thank You for the freedom we have to “write Your answer.” Please help us to make the most of the opportunities You give us. Use this year’s CCWC to draw us all closer to You and to equip us to serve You more effectively. Give us Your vision for our writing ministry and encourage us to believe that You will use us to make a difference through the words we write and the lives we live.

Joyfully serving Christ -

P.S. Be sure to regularly check your email for conference updates as well as the conference Facebook page and my blog.

A Few Important Notes about Housing, Travel, Dress . . .

Make your lodging reservation directly with the YMCA as soon as possible. Click here for a form you can print and fax (or mail) to the YMCA. You may also use the form in the conference brochure. Remember that your lodging includes meals beginning with the evening meal the day of your arrival and ending with the noon meal the day of your departure. If you need lunch the day of your arrival and did not order it when you completed your registration, you may purchase it in the dining hall for an additional $1.

If you're arriving by plane, call Estes Park Shuttle (970-586-5151) or visit www.estesparkshuttle.com to make a reservation for the ground shuttle. We suggest that you have them drop you and your luggage at the Ruesch Auditorium. We will then have someone help you with your luggage and check-in. (There is an elevator to the auditorium just outside the dining hall.) If you’re flying with someone, you may want to rent a car rather rather than take the shuttle to save money. If you’re renting a car at DIA, click here for directions  that avoid the toll road although I think it’s well worth the cost.

When you arrive at the YMCA: If you’re a commuter, go to the conference registration desk in the Ruesch Auditorium. If you’re staying on campus, go to the Administration Building to pick up your room key and meal passes. The Administration Building is the first building on your left with a large porch and a flagpole in front of the building. Go upstairs to check-in. After you check-in and get settled in your room, go to the registration desk in the Ruesch Auditorium (the largest building on your left just past the administration building with a wraparound deck) to register and receive your name tag and info packet. Please note: We will be setting up on Tuesday and Wednesday and will not have your packet available until 3:00 pm on Wednesday.

Wednesday Early Bird Workshops: Four of the classes will be held in the Ruesch classrooms, the others in Long’s Peak. I’ll post the location of the workshops on the website pre-conference so you can go directly to your workshop(s) if you’re running late. If you have not pre-registered for an early bird workshop, you are welcome to go to the workshop(s) and pay after the registration desk opens.

Bring comfortable shoes and clothes you can wear in layers. Although we’re anticipating springtime weather (average high 61; average low 34), it may drop to freezing in the evenings. Jeans are fine (essential if you’re planning to go on the Saturday evening hayride). The atmosphere will be informal and relaxed. We’re here to learn from one another and to seek the Lord in a retreat setting.

Bring a water bottle if you are not from a high (8,010 feet) altitude and dry climate. We’ll have stainless steel water bottles with the Write His Answer logo available for a donation to our scholarship fund. You may want to bring a swimming suit.

If you have special needs, be sure to let us or the YMCA know how we can assist you.
